Dubai, UAE – On the morning of October 21, a minor electrical short circuit occurred at the luxury goods storage area inside Dubai Mall, affecting approximately 600m² of storage space. Thanks to the timely operation of the automatic fire suppression system, the fire was quickly controlled, causing no serious damage to people or property.

According to Mr. David Al Mansoori, representative of the Dubai Mall Warehouse Management Board:

“Most of the products in the warehouse are still 100% intact. However, some of the outer packaging was affected by smoke, making it impossible for the goods to be displayed and distributed according to their original standards.”

To support the luxury brands affected by the incident, Dubai Mall has collaborated with many international brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Prada, Marshall... to launch a special discount program, with discounts of up to 75% for all slightly affected shipments.

The program is considered a measure to recover damages, while also bringing a rare opportunity for customers in the UAE and internationally to own genuine branded products at prices only about 1/5 of the original price.

“We were fortunate that the automatic fire suppression system activated in time, preserving nearly 100% of the products inside.
However, due to outer packaging damage, the goods cannot be distributed as usual.
To recover from losses and support affected brands, we are compelled to offer discounts of up to 75% on the entire affected inventory.”

Crowds queuing at major brands

Thousands of shoppers flooded Dubai Mall, forming long queues in front of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Dior boutiques to grab rare discounted luxury bags. The frenzy created a scene both chaotic and exhilarating, with exhausted yet determined fashion lovers treating each purchase as a true victory,

Some customers lost their cool.

The unexpected plot twist

Faced with the dangerous situation, the brand immediately stopped the live event and announced that it would switch to online sales. This helped customers avoid the crowds and still be able to shop at the same preferential rates.

Chaos at the opening sale

Thousands of people showed up early in the morning, lining up to buy the popular bags, which were discounted from their listed price of thousands of AED to just AED119.

But when the door opened, the scene of jostling and pushing caused many people to collapse and require medical assistance on the spot.
