Dubai: Shoppers flocked to Dubai Marina Mall early this morning, forming long queues before doors even opened, as the city kicked off its much-anticipated Black Friday weekend with discounts of up to 90%.

A bustling morning scene

By 9am, the mall’s waterfront entrance was already packed with families, groups of friends, and tourists eager to snap up limited-time offers. Security teams were deployed to manage the flow of people, while store staff rushed to restock as shelves emptied within minutes.

“We’ve been waiting here since 8:30am just to be among the first inside,” said Rohan Mehta, an Indian resident. “The discounts are huge — especially for fashion and electronics.”

Mall moves online to ease congestion

Responding to the overwhelming turnout, Dubai Marina Mall announced by midday that it had expanded its Black Friday promotions to the official website, allowing shoppers to enjoy the same in-store discounts online.

“We want everyone to enjoy the offers without having to queue for hours,” an Emaar Malls spokesperson said. “We’ve added top deals across fashion, beauty and homeware categories on our website so customers can shop comfortably from home.”

Customers can visit to browse sale items, redeem e-vouchers, or order directly online.

The event is part of Dubai’s 3-Day Super Sale, featuring discounts of up to 90 per cent and cashback offers across hundreds of brands.
