Phnom Penh: Shoppers crowded AEON Mall Sen Sok City early this morning, forming long queues before doors even opened, as Cambodia kicked off its much-anticipated Black Friday weekend with discounts reaching up to 90%.

A bustling morning scene

By 9am, the mall’s main entrance was packed with families, students, and tourists eager to grab limited-time deals. Security personnel were stationed to manage the flow of shoppers, while store staff scrambled to restock popular items as soon as the sale began.

“We arrived before 8:30am because some brands were offering half-price electronics,” said Sophea Chan, a local resident. “The atmosphere is lively — it feels like a real festival.”

Mall moves online to ease congestion

As foot traffic surged throughout the morning, AEON Mall Sen Sok City announced an expansion of its Black Friday offers to the mall’s official website, enabling shoppers to enjoy the same promotions without having to queue.

“Our goal is to make the shopping experience smoother and more convenient,” a spokesperson for AEON Mall Cambodia said. “Customers can now browse and purchase online with the same discounts offered in stores.”

The sale coincides with the city’s growing Black Friday shopping culture, featuring major discounts from both international and local brands.

Convenient location: Situated in the Sen Sok district, the mall draws residents from across Phnom Penh thanks to easy road access and ample parking.

Strong digital promotion: AEON Mall’s social media campaign earlier this week attracted thousands of online engagements, building anticipation for the event.
